Originally from Portland, Maine, Kate Merrill had been developing and honing her sound in the New York City Music scene. Her voice has been described as a pure, ghostly sounding vocals with a powerful range and sitting somewhere inbetween indie pop and blues rock/ Jazz genres. and is releasing “Awake at Night” in March 2020, a co-written tune with Eric Trudel of Brooklyn, NY.
Kate‘s formal music education began at Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY where she earned credits as a Musical Theatre Major, with a concentration in Vocal Performance. She went on to graduate from Wagner College
in 2009 with a B.S. in Arts Administration with a concentration in Music and Theater. She also studied under the classical voice instruction of Lynne Vardaman of Manhattan School of Music and Elizabeth McCullough of Wagner College.
Kate is currently spending her winter splitting time between Maine and NYC to record a series of singles to be released in 2020. Her most recent performance was at The Landing in Scarborough, ME. She’s been spotted in NYC at The Bowery Electric
